RARITÄTEN-EDELBRENNEREI ROBERT GIERER

ROBERT GIERER RARE FOOD DISTILLERY

In Bodolz, above the island town of Lindau, where one enjoys an idyllic panoramic view of Lake Constance, lies the Robert Gierer distillery. Here, Robert Gierer creates and refines his rare spirits, inspired by the excellent location and surroundings. Not only editors from renowned print magazines, but also, most recently, Bavarian Television, have shown interest in Gierer's work on fine spirits.

A creative fourth generation: Robert Gierer, a trained fruit grower and distiller, acquired his expertise and practical experience long before beginning his formal apprenticeship, as the family business has been operating for four generations. The directly connected Gierer fruit farm guarantees the exceptional quality of the fruit. The fruit, berries, etc., are hand-picked. "First-class, sun-ripened, highly aromatic fruit is a crucial prerequisite for our fine, rare spirits, and I have dedicated my name and my profession to this standard of quality," says Robert Gierer. After years of development and maturation, the "young distiller from Bodolz" even patented the name of one of his rare spirits. "Elvados" is a single-varietal Elstar distillate that is aged and matured for years in a French Limousin oak barrel. It impresses with the harmony of the Elstar and barrel aromas; the distinctive oak barrel flavor is sure to win over any gourmet! It can be enjoyed as a digestif, as Elvados on the rocks as an aperitif, or with a good cigar. Unique on Lake Constance. Advertisement: Kerstin and Robert Gierer. Wide range of products. The selection of rare brandies ranges from Marc de Traminer and Marc de Chardonnay to apricot brandy, sour cherry brandy, quince brandy, sloe brandy (wild plum), wild cherry, and rowanberry brandy. Among the fine brandies are single-variety Elstar apple brandy, Williams/Cox/Elstar apple-pear brandy, herbal brandy made from their own herb blend, Williams pear brandy, cherry, plum, and mirabelle brandy, sloe gin, wild raspberry brandy (over 3 kg of wild raspberries for 1 liter of alcohol), hazelnut, and orange brandy. All brandies are characterized by a smooth and balanced flavor.

The fine liqueurs are produced at Gierer's according to an old family recipe. Customers can choose from sour cherry, apricot, raspberry, Williams peach, strawberry, vineyard peach, and walnut liqueurs, all of which have a particularly fruity flavor. At Gierer's, these "good spirits" mature for over two and a half years, primarily in stainless steel tanks and barriques, before being diluted with soft water to drinking strength – that is, 40% alcohol – and bottled in attractive bottles. The highest priority is the use of absolutely clean stills.

Tasting and fine cuisine:

The distillery's integrated kitchen offers a variety of delicacies, such as wafer-thin slices of prosciutto, delicately spiced cheese (Beeler selection), and homemade bread – all beautifully presented. Kerstin and Robert Gierer cater to every culinary desire. The accompanying award-winning chef also ensures that no wish goes unfulfilled. The tables are set with meticulous attention to detail.

Training: Robert Gierer trains the staff of new restaurant clients. "It's essential that the service crew can convey precise information about my product range to the guest," emphasizes the innovative distiller—which ultimately pleases the owner of the respective gourmet establishments, as sales of spirits become a sure thing. The designer bottles, containing valuable spirits, are presented to the discerning diner on a unique display stand provided by Robert Gierer. Many renowned hotels and restaurants have already greatly benefited from Gierer's commitment. Events: The spacious rooms of the magnificently and tastefully converted "former barn," which is also very attractive and inviting from the outside, are ideally suited for unique customer and corporate events, as well as various gourmet events.

A visit to the Gierer distillery specializing in rare spirits is worthwhile and will be an unforgettable experience.
